As the curtain rises once again at the newly restored Palm Springs Plaza Theatre this December, a new era in local arts begins. The Plaza Theatre is proud to announce a multi-year partnership with the acclaimed Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus (PSGMC), who will serve as The Plaza Theatre’s inaugural resident artists beginning with the 2025 holiday season.
Celebrating the close of its landmark 25th year, PSGMC will kick off its 26th season on December 19–21, 2025, with “Bells, Brass & Sass,” a glittering holiday spectacular that promises to be the PSGMC’s biggest and brightest show yet. The performance will feature festive favorites, special numbers from your favorite holiday classics, including Elf The Musical and Sound of Music, and a very special guest artist to be announced—officially ringing in a new season and a new stage for the PSGMC.
In spring, PSGMC returns April 24–26, 2026, with “Rhinestones & Rainbows,” a heart-filled, high-energy celebration nodding to Dolly Parton and the sparkle she brings to authenticity, acceptance, and joy. Expect glamorous blue jeans, bedazzled boots, and a chorus that sings straight from the soul.
“This multi-year partnership is a love letter to Palm Springs,” said John Bolton, SVP, Oak View Group and GM, Plaza Theatre. “The Plaza Theatre is deeply committed to supporting local arts, and we’re thrilled to welcome the Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus as a cornerstone of that commitment. Together, we’re preserving the past while building an exciting future for the cultural life of our city.”
Originally opened in 1936, the Plaza Theatre is an architectural gem and a symbol of Palm Springs’ storied creative legacy. Thanks to a city-led, community-supported restoration, the venue will reopen in December 2025 as a modern, fully equipped performance space—a home for music, theatre, dance, film, and civic celebration.
The partnership with PSGMC reflects the Plaza Theatre’s mission to uplift local talent, honor artistic tradition, and create a cultural gathering place for future generations.
"The announcement of this partnership between PSGMC and The Plaza Theatre has been more than a year in the making. The Plaza will most certainly become a symbol of Palm Springs as a true Arts destination, and it is the perfect setting for PSGMC‘s theatrical brand of choral music performances. It is fitting that Palm Springs’ “official gay men’s chorus” will make its new home at this historic performance venue in the heart of downtown. We can’t wait to get started," commented Jerry Soria-Foust, PSGMC, Artistic Director. <
"This multi-year partnership between the Plaza Theatre and the Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus demonstrates our commitment to connecting the iconic landmark with the Palm Springs community,” said Palm Springs Mayor Ron deHarte. “As the inaugural resident artists, PSGMC will showcase this historic venue to a new generation of arts and culture enthusiasts. I am proud and excited for them to kick-off the 2025 holiday season!”
Tickets for the 2025-2026 season will be available later this year.
